Despite what you may think about his
peculiar campaign, O won fair and square, and it was not even close.
He got 303 Electoral Votes, but only needed 270, and this is w/o
Florida.
THE COUNT
O won Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota,
and Pennsylvania by comfortable margins, so these states were never
really in play. He ran the table of all “battleground” states by
small but solid margins: Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, and Ohio, except
for Florida, which is currently too close to call.
The balance of power in the House and
Senate remains unchanged.
Kudos to Zogby: on Sunday, he predicted
as much. Truth to tell, I was sure that he was right on, and
deliberately chose to ignore election night coverage. I checked the
polls only once, just before I went to sleep and by then O was
already declared the winner.
FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON YOU; FOOL ME
TWICE, SHAME ON ME
Republicans, at some point if they
expect to survive this generation, must learn that putting forth a
presidential candidate who is a milquetoast, moderate, calm, fatherly
type is a sure recipe for failure. They have done this twice before:
Dole and McCain, and got their heads handed to them on a silver
platter (at least these 2 dudes were war heroes). This time, they
tried the same thing with the same results, but with a rich Mormon.
Romney?
Really? Really??
The only good thing I can say about the
man is that he was slightly better than the pipsqueaks who ran
against him in the primaries.
DID YOU KNOW UNEMPLOYMENT HAS BEEN 8%
FOR ALL 4 YEARS?
It was conventional wisdom that
defeating O was pretty much a slam dunk, since no president for many
decades had ever been reelected with so many unemployed: so much for
conventional wisdom. Problem: the opposition must also put forth a
visionary who will inspire people, provide leadership, and make them
feel good about the future of our country. The Republican standard
bearer was not such a man. He was merely a competent administrator
with a huge bank account.
COME: LET US EMBRACE AT LAST
I warn the House Republicans: do not
compromise. Dare O and his minions to jump off the “fiscal cliff”
with you. Do not let him get away with this “rich must do their
fair share” horse sh*t. The expiration of the Bush tax cuts is
scary and will surely snip off a bit off our country's GDP, but is
magnitudes better than what the Reverend Wright disciple has in mind.
Already, Reid is making noises that
Republicans must relent, and Boehner is making noises about dropping
trou and bending over.
Do not let this happen.
Never.
Ever.
Gridlock is good. Gridlock forever!
PHYSICIAN, HEAL THYSELF
OK, some of you are mad at the world,
but we have only ourselves to blame. You are about to wield your
torches and pitchforks: what do we do now?
Patience, grasshopper. We do the first
tasks first.
- we have to get rid of moderates: Christie, Rove, Jeb Bush
- replace the Speaker of the House with a firebrand who will speak for us
- take control of the Republican party away from the Rhinos and moderates
These are first steps: clean house.
Unless we do this, Republicans have no hope. Ronald Reagan was once
in a lifetime, and I do not see another like him, so we must do this
ourselves.
LET THE PUNDITRY BEGIN!
I predict:
- the Republican establishment will choose Jeb Bush in a close primary over Christie for their candidate for President in 2016
- on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, the results of the Presidential election will be identical to that of November 6, 2012.
- I hold my prediction to be correct, regardless of who the Clinton gang or their affiliates choose for their standard bearer
Why? Because, thus far, I see no
evidence that the Republican Party can learn from its mistakes,
because they refuse to acknowledge them as such.
