Just in case you missed it, a ‘rap’ artist performed at the White House last week (he would probably want me to mention his name). A casual examination of his lyrics reveals numerous references to misogyny and cop-killing. The White House Press Secretary got into a heated exchange with reporters about this subject. He tried, but not very convincingly, to explain that said rapper is a serious artist. Perhaps, but an official invite to the White House is akin to a stamp of approval. Granted, the President was likely pandering to the youth vote (2012 is just around the corner, you see). He either did not understand or did not care about the secondary implications. In either case, it does speak well of his judgment.
